Graduating students and staff from the Ceramics & Glass department at the Royal College of Art were invited to participate in an exhibition at Christie's South Kensington, a fine arts auction house, earlier this month. The works were showcased alongside a Picasso ceramics sale.
I thought it was very interesting to see my works and my classmates' works displayed alongside the works of our tutors. I particularly enjoyed seeing my Périgord series next to beautiful glass pieces by Simon Moore--the colors were perfect for each other and the dramatic heights of his pieces served as a nice juxtaposition to my diminutive truffles. The marigold orange walls were a bit alarming at first, but in the end, I think it served as an interesting and vibrant backdrop for all our works.
